J'S BIRTHDAY MINI SHOOT

This little {almost} 4 year old has a birthday coming up next week. We did a fun little birthday mini-shoot with him last week. I LOVE these big number balloons, so I wanted to get some pictures with them....unfortunately if you are from the Chicago area you know how windy it ALWAYS is, so we struggled a little with the crazy wind. In the end I love how they turned out, and I love his little missing tooth and that sweet smile!!

NAUVOO

I had the opportunity to go to Nauvoo this past weekend and I took a LOT of really fun pictures. Nauvoo is a historical town on the banks of the Mississippi River where the early pioneers settled. I have pioneer ancestors who came through Nauvoo in the early years and it was so fun to be able to go visit the town and take some pictures of the beauty that was all around.

I had the chance to take some family photos while we were there.

And I captured a bunch of little munchkins too.

My favorite part was just walking around town capturing the charm of this cute pioneer town.

And of course, my own pioneer heritage. This cabin is named after my 5th Great Grandmother.

JENNIFER DILLON MCDONALD FUNERAL

It was a privilege to be able to take pictures at Jennifer's funeral. I am so grateful for the memories these provide and for the love and peace that I feel when I look at them. My heart is still breaking for my brother and his sweet children, but they are strong and will get through this!!

Writing on the casket was so cool. I loved it, I thought it was so therapeutic for the adults and for the children. Once we let the kids start, they didn't want to stop. It was so easy to just keep adding more and more love to send with Jennifer. It was such an awesome experience, one I highly recommend for the right person.

Jennifer was the social media manager for Quick Quack, so they offered to take the hearse through the car wash on the way to the cemetery. Jennifer would have LOVED it!!
