BABY B

Baby B's  mom and dad met me at the temple for 10 minute so I could practice and take a few pictures of him. Last time I saw him he was only a few months old, he's grown so much since then. I seriously took these pictures and edited them all in about 30 minutes....which is amazing to me!!

I love how they turned out!!

Oh man, I love those baby blues!!!

THE ZIELINSKI FAMILY

I had so much fun with this family taking their pictures. I told them multiple times that they were so much easier to work with then a running toddler, it's really nice when they can all listen to instructions and understand what I am asking them to do....and it's even better when they do it!! As you can see, we got LOTS of really great pictures!!

This one of mom with her girls is one of my favorites of the night!

This one might be my very favorite of the night....I'm pretty sure this is how they all really felt!!

Thanks for being good sports!!

PHOTO CLASSES

I've been taking some photo classes the last few weeks to learn more about photography and get more consistent and in focus pictures.

They have two philosophies that I love, one is that everything should happen IN THE CAMERA, not in Lighroom or Photoshop. You should be setting your camera to get the photos you want, not editing them...you are a PHOTOGRAPHER, not an editor.

The second is that if it feels weird while you are doing it, it probably will look good on camera.

They taught me so much about editing, lighting, posing, white balance, making a customer experience and a million other things in-between. Here are just a few samples of my work during the class. I can't wait to see how much better my photos will get with more practice!!

My subject wasn't super thrilled when I wanted to practice RIGHT NOW....hahaha, but he's much better after I added a few girls to the mix! :)

I asked a couple of friends if they would be willing to provide their kids as models for me....and I got some great practice.

Look at how dreamy and perfect her skin tone is, I didn't even have to edit it that way, it came that way because now I know how to set my camera!! :)

JENNIFER DILLON MCDONALD FUNERAL

It was a privilege to be able to take pictures at Jennifer's funeral. I am so grateful for the memories these provide and for the love and peace that I feel when I look at them. My heart is still breaking for my brother and his sweet children, but they are strong and will get through this!!

Writing on the casket was so cool. I loved it, I thought it was so therapeutic for the adults and for the children. Once we let the kids start, they didn't want to stop. It was so easy to just keep adding more and more love to send with Jennifer. It was such an awesome experience, one I highly recommend for the right person.

Jennifer was the social media manager for Quick Quack, so they offered to take the hearse through the car wash on the way to the cemetery. Jennifer would have LOVED it!!

This is Matt from Utah Valley Mortuary. They were AMAZING to work with. I highly recommend them if you are in need of funeral services. They are compassionate, empathetic and included so many little extras that made our day just a little bit easier. Thank you Matt.
